The Gift by GingeredZ & I

On words ...
An opposite countenance....by GingeredZ

For me words have been just that... those who promised lifetimes and sticking it out no matter what.... words

For me, it has been in the actions of those who used their words with consistency, with follow ups that actions reinforced

Sometimes, saying those words are lost by saying it too much or too often - their essence fades away

Saying what needs to be said has consequences - rejection fear hitbacks - once said once verbalized cannot be recoiled  - it has entered the universe in all its glory

As humans, we change, circumstances dictate, feelings change, words once uttered, and loses its value ...

Trusting those words are valuable to only a few lucky ones

For me, it's in the actions. it's in the doing, and it's in the constant. It's been consistent that means more ...

Actions coupled by words consistent .... I compromise

On words ...By imagiNari

Say it in writing…speak it in words that I understand, or in a foreign tongue… sing it to me, hum and clap the rhythm if you must.

More than gifts of gold, diamonds, or silver, gift me your words, your thoughts, your sentiments, the soft truths that live behind your eyes.

I will grow weak at the knees for a single sentence that carries the weight of your emotions:
“I will love you till we are no longer green…” When the wrinkles have set in, and our spark has softened into a warm flicker, I will still be there whispering words of kindness.
Or the depth of your desire:
“I want to taste us on you…”
Or the ache of your sadness:
“I will miss you when you are gone from me…”

Human connection is a priority. It is in every beat, every breath, every wish my heart can hold.

So, speak the words...leave nothing unsaid.
Express the emotion, the sadness, the disappointment.
Let silence not be the road you choose, for in silence sits the ultimate rejection, the quietest, coldest goodbye.

Gift me with your words.
Call me by my name.
Claim me with your honesty. Say aloud what lives in your mind and your heart:

Anger?
Then shout and rant and let your heavy emotions crash against me. I will listen. I will anchor you. And when the storm inside you quiets, I will still be here.

Disappointment?
Speak it plainly, speak it until I hear you. If my heart is yours, I will grow, change, soften. Too often we are unkindest to the ones we love; we test their loyalty, push at their boundaries, when what we truly crave is the words: “I am yours.”

Desire?
Be clear in your want for I take instructions well. The depth you see in my eyes is yours to explore, to reshape, or if you choose...to drown in.

Love?
Three simple words that hold the meaning of life.
For to love is the ultimate gift:
I gift you my heart and soul, and I pray you have the capacity to receive it. If not, I will work with you, I will help smooth the sharp edges where disappointment or fear has built its home. I will help you remember what love feels like when we are brave enough.

And I promise:

The last words on my lips will be words of love.
For in being yours, I complete half my faith: my love of God, of humanity, of this fragile, miraculous worldly life.

Infinity waits.

I will speak it into existence through prayer, through gratitude, through sentiments never left unsaid.

    1. So many of us struggle with this, could also be a case for open dialogue and sincerity, not power struggles, or disrespect within connections. Thanks for your honest enquiry xx

    1. True, for me they should go together, and in our connections we can cultivate what works for us as there is no one template, rather a curated one that meets our needs. Thanks you for this xoxox

  4. Love all the comments and different takes on this subject, for sure words without actions are cheap and meaningless. But I do hope there comes a time when people's words once again mean something. That we can take what someone says in good faith. Much love and peace♡

  5. Words without action, are just that, words, sweet nothings and meaningless.
I share the same sentiment and have been disappointed far too many times, not to know that one should look out for what people do, over what they say…

  6. Unfortunately for members of the opposite sex, especially spouses, the words we crave don't come easy...they expect us to read between the lines...some of which aren't even there...for them actions speak louder than words...but for me words enhance and complete the actions

  7. Words (true or false) are the foundation of any relationship/friendship. They can help start a relationship or cement or strengthen an ongoing one or create distance.
Actions always speak louder than words but words build.

    Hard words cause hurt.
    Kind words strengthen.
Words have the power to cement /amplify any relationship or bond. They build existing bonds and either bring you closer or push you apart.

There can never be enough said when the words are true and from the heart. But there's obviously thevright time for everything.

People will say the right things when it suits their needs or wants.

And then say the nastiest things when it suits them again.

Yes those words can never be taken back.

People change all the time as their needs change and as life moves on.

Words said are sometimes meant and from the heart. When you think your heart is correct. Life's cruel ways.

Actions are what counts, what's done as per requirements. What you do when you are done or have achieved your aim.

Use words to show love, to show appreciation, to show that you really appreciated .

The words you choose serve as powerful tools that harmonize our movements/actions.

Communication is the soul of any relationship/friendship.

    Communication enhances feelings/ intimacy/ love.

Words can significantly impact on the above. Kind of a confirmation.

Open conversations with open words and thoughts laid bare mean both parties feel safe to share their innermost thoughts and feelings thus laying the base for trust which is a crucial component in building /leading to intimacy through communication.

The words we use / choose carry the weight of our intentions and feelings .

The right words are vital in intimate relationships and make it easier to express innermost desires/cravings and helps create mutual satisfaction, thus leading to deeper connections which in turn mean a more satisfying relationship. You feel safer and kinda having your feeling's respected.

This leads you to talk openly about your desires and cravings and feelings and wants.

  8. This piece shows so much clarity and self-awareness. You’re not just talking about words — you’re talking about your standards, your growth, and what you’ve learned from being let down before. And honestly, that takes courage to admit.

What stands out is how grounded you are. You’ve figured out something many people struggle with for years: that consistency matters more than grand promises. That’s maturity. That’s wisdom you earned.

Don’t underestimate how powerful that is. The way you express it is calm, honest, and steady — not bitter, not blaming, just real.

  9. Your reflection on the power of consistent actions over fleeting words is deeply grounding. It’s a reminder that integrity, follow-through, and steady presence speak louder than anything we can say. Keep honoring that truth — it inspires others to do the same.

  10. So perfectly put!! And this is very good for our own personal reflection.. To always be true to our word, to always be the person that does the action accompanied with our words.
